耍 is the Sichuan and Chongqing word for play, and 耍起 is the summons: go on, play. The “literature” part is the internet's label for the aphorisms built around that summons, quotes arguing that leisure is not a reward you earn but the actual business of life. The flagship line, “有钱大耍，没钱硬耍”, leaves no exit: whether or not money shows up, the playing proceeds. The phrase took its national turn in the summer of 2026, pushed along by streamer catchphrases and by rappers borrowing the dialect for hooks. Sina ran early coverage on August 16, 2026, tracing how a regional summons to play had become a feed-wide catchphrase. A longer feature followed on 3DM on September 17, 2026, by the writer 旌影, collecting the canon of hedonist one-liners from southwestern China, including the seasoned line attributed to Sichuan storyteller 李伯清, “耍中找钱，找钱来耍”: make your money through play, then play with the money.
