现充
- Literally
- real-life fulfilled
- Meaning
- Net slang for people whose social life in the real world is full, borrowed from the Japanese リア充.

What does 现充 mean?
A 现充 is someone whose calendar is full away from the screen: friends, dates, trips, dinners, photos with actual people in them. The word was born as the opposite of the stay-at-home fan, so it usually arrives with a mix of envy and laughter. The classic curse 现充爆炸吧, an import of the Japanese リア充爆発しろ, started among anime fans and now shows up under any friend's vacation photos. Using it on yourself is a standard move: the proud homebody announcing that today, finally, they are being a 现充.
Where does 现充 come from?
Japanese message boards of the early 2000s shortened リアル (real) and 充実 (fulfilled) into リア充 to describe people whose offline lives were going well. Chinese anime and game forums imported the term during the 2000s together with 宅 and other otaku vocabulary, and the curse aimed at it crossed over as 现充爆炸吧.
