What does 欧皇 mean?
欧皇 is the player luck loves: three SSRs in a row, the 1% drop on the first try, the crate that actually has the knife. Lesser mortals beg to 吸欧气 — “inhale European luck” — before their own pulls, and a lucky streak is 欧皇附体 (“the European Emperor has possessed him”). The opposite condition is 非酋, the African chief. Spending money doesn’t make you 欧皇; pulling the rare item anyway does — a 氪金 whale with terrible rates is still a whale, not an emperor.
Where does 欧皇 come from?
欧皇 and its antonym were born in the 2016 gacha explosion around Onmyoji (阴阳师), whose SSR summons dominated gaming conversation that year. “Europe” stood for luck because European servers were jokingly imagined to have better drop rates, “Africa” for drought — and the imperial titles made it official: emperors bless, chiefs suffer. The pairing became the standard way to rank summon luck across every gacha that followed.
