What does 躺赢 mean?

躺赢 combines 躺 (lie down, as in 躺平) with 赢 (win): to win while lying down, i.e., be carried by overpowered teammates. It's the humble-brag of gaming — “I totally 躺赢'd that round” — and the dream state of every casual player. Real life usage is just as common: joining a project just as it succeeds, buying a stock right before it moons, or coasting at work while a star colleague hits every deadline. Close cousins: 躺输 (lose while lying down) for hopeless matches, and the sarcastic “你以为我想躺赢?” when accused of freeloading. The meme celebrates luck and timing, but also hints at a generation tired of grinding: sometimes it's nice to just lie down and win.

Where does 躺赢 come from?

躺赢 spread through MOBA communities in the late 2010s, especially League of Legends and 王者荣耀, where matchmaking often pairs newbies with smurfs or veterans. A player who did nothing but follow the carry would type “躺赢舒服” (“winning lying down feels great”) in post-game chat. The term merged with the 躺平 philosophy around 2020–2021, gaining a second life as social commentary: why hustle when you can pick the right teammates, the right company, the right city — and simply 躺赢?
